Just like in 2015 and 2016 Belgocontrol will proceed to a new recruitment campaign for air traffic controllers. The competitive recruitment exam will be spread over several months and consists of various eliminating tests. In 2017, 30 young people started their training to become an air traffic controller with Belgocontrol. In total however there were almost 3,000 candidates who registered for the recruitment exam.
The job of an air traffic controller is a complex one. They bear an enormous responsibility. They need to be thorough, have a good situational judgment, be capable of taking the right decisions, be team-minded, be stress-resistant and have a good knowledge of English. The candidates with the best results in all of the tests (cognitive, psychological and medical) will start their two-year training. Only after they will have successfully completed their training will they be allowed to operate as a full air traffic controller. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 25.
You can register from 1 to 31 October 2017 via the Belgocontrol website: https://www.belgocontrol.be/air-traffic-controller
On that website, those who are interested will find all the information on admission criteria, eliminating tests and the job of an air traffic controller.
